Meet Alanya

An award winning musical theatre composer & lyricist. I love to tell stories through my music. I feel so blessed to have worked all over the world.

Music is the shorthand of emotion. My work has been performed around the world, including the Lincoln Center, Playwrights Downtown and Feinstein’s 54 Below,

  • I’m a graduate of the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, Tisch School of Arts, New York University and member of the Advanced BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. I am a member of the Dramatists Guild, Maestra, Mercury Musical Developments and APRA AMCOS. I studied in London at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and am a Licentiate of Trinity College, London.

Working with students

I’m the Director and Founder of Songmakers Studio - a company dedicated to providing opportunities for young people to create songs of their own.  A passionate educator, I currently teach piano and composition and lecture at the Bachelor of Music; Songwriting and Contemporary Music Performance at JMC Academy.
